One of the major goals of ViroLab in the initial phase of the project had been the identification and classifications of ViroLab users. Three main classes of ViroLab users have been identified: members of the medical scientific community, computer scientists, and industry or commercial users. This subdivision also defines a set of generic use cases for the virtual laboratory's usage.
